She has worked in critical care in both major medical centers and community hospitals for over 45 years and just recently retired from active bedside practice. Wood shares her love of nursing and SXU with her students and keeps in touch with many of them through her work on SXU's National Alumni Board. Wood met her husband, Phil, at SXU.
